New Crops & Wild Plants

Farm & Charm introduces a wide variety of wild crops that spawn naturally in the world. These include:

  • Strawberries
  • Tomatoes
  • Onions
  • Lettuce
  • Oats
  • Corn
  • Barley
  • Carrots
  • Potatoes
  • Beetroots
  • Emmer
  • Ribwort
  • Nettles

Plains, Savannas & Badlands

These biomes are excellent early-game locations due to the variety of crops available.

You can find:

  • Wild Corn
  • Wild Tomatoes

These are most commonly found in:

  • Plains
  • Savannas
  • Badlands

Taiga & Meadow Biomes

If you’re looking for grains, these colder and temperate biomes are key.

You can find:

  • Wild Oats

Biomes:

  • Taiga
  • Meadow

Rivers, Plains & Savannas

Barley is slightly more spread out but still easy to find.

You can find:

  • Wild Barley

Biomes:

  • Rivers
  • Plains
  • Occasionally Savannas

Forests, Plains & Flower Forests

These are some of the easiest crops to obtain, as they spawn in very common biomes.

You can find:

  • Wild Nettles
  • Wild Carrots
  • Wild Beetroots
  • Wild Potatoes

Biomes:

  • Forests
  • Plains
  • Flower Forests
  • Sometimes Rivers

Lettuce & Onions (Very Common)

Lettuce and onions spawn in many of the same biomes as the crops above and are extremely easy to gather.

You can find:

  • Wild Lettuce
  • Wild Onions

Biomes:

  • Forests
  • Plains
  • Rivers
  • Savannas

These are among the most widely distributed crops in the mod.

Strawberries

Strawberries are common, but do not spawn in forests.

You can find:

  • Wild Strawberries

Biomes:

  • Plains
  • Rivers
  • Meadows
  • Sunflower Plains

Swamps & Mangrove Swamps (Best Location)

If you’re specifically hunting herbal plants, these biomes are ideal.

You can find:

  • Wild Nettles
  • Wild Ribwort

Biomes:

  • Swamps
  • Mangrove Swamps

These two biomes are the most reliable source for both plants.

Emmer

Emmer is another grain crop that spawns across multiple biomes.

You can find:

  • Wild Emmer

Biomes:

  • Plains
  • Sunflower Plains
  • Forests
  • Rivers

Breaking wild plants drops their raw versions, which can then be used in cooking, teas, or crafting.

Teas & Early Buffs

Many plants can be brewed into teas:

  • Nettle Tea – Instant health + hunger & saturation
  • Ribwort Tea – Regeneration

These are great early-game consumables and worth crafting as soon as possible.

You can also bundle crops into 3×3 bales or bags for compact storage.

Silos – Composting & Fertilizer

image

Silos are one of the core mechanics of Farm & Charm.

Types of Silos

  • Wooden Silo
  • Copper Silo

Both function identically — the difference is purely aesthetic.

How Silos Work

You can insert:

  • Crops
  • Wild plants
  • Podzol
  • Rotten flesh

After 10 seconds, the silo produces:

  • Bone meal
  • Fertilizer
  • Fertilized soil

Multiblock Silos

Silos can be combined into a multiblock structure:

  • Up to 3×3 wide
  • Up to 9 blocks tall
  • Processing time remains the same regardless of size

Fertilized Soil & Pitchforks

image

Fertilized soil has two main uses:

  1. Crop Growth
  2. It is assumed to improve crop growth when tilled, though this is not clearly documented.

  3. Terrain Spreading
  4. Using a pitchfork on fertilized soil causes grass and vegetation to spread rapidly across a large area without consuming the block.

This makes it excellent for landscaping and farm setup.

Cooking & Food Production

image

Stove

The stove is the foundation of cooking:

  • Accepts fuel (coal, etc.)
  • Can cook items directly
  • Used with other cooking blocks

Cooking Pot

Placed on top of the stove:

  • 6 ingredient slots + bowl slot
  • Food only cooks after inserting a bowl
  • Produces soups, stews, and meals

Roaster

Used for roasted foods:

  • Example: corn + butter → roasted corn
  • Provides powerful buffs like Feast or Grandma’s Blessing

Animal Automation & Farming Tools

image

Feeding Trough

  • Automatically feeds animals in a large radius
  • Great for passive farming setups

Water Sprinkler

  • Hydrates nearby crops
  • Decorative and functional

Cattle Grid

  • Prevents animals from crossing
  • Replaces fences entirely
  • Animals cannot walk over it, even when tempted

Chickens & Egg Collection

image

Chicken Nest

  • Chickens lay eggs directly into the nest
  • No hoppers required

Chicken Coop

  • Holds chickens internally
  • Right-click to collect eggs instantly

Decoration & Storage

image

Window Sill

  • Mounts on walls
  • Holds plants or flowers decoratively

Tool Rack

  • Stores tools and weapons on walls
  • Holds up to three tools

Crafting Bowl – Butter Making

The crafting bowl allows manual processing:

  • Insert a milk bucket
  • Right-click repeatedly to stir
  • Produces butter
  • Shift-right-click to remove items

Butter is used in many cooking recipes.

Mincer – Meat Processing

image

The mincer increases meat efficiency:

  • Raw chicken → 3 chicken cuts
  • Raw pork → bacon
  • Even processes ores (e.g. copper ore → raw copper)

This allows you to triple meat output, making it extremely powerful in food-focused modpacks.

Animal Feed & Pets

Different feeds provide buffs:

  • Dog food – Attack damage & knockback resistance
  • Chicken feed – Chickens cluck for 30 seconds
  • Horse feed – Jump height & strength
  • Cat food – Increased taming chance

Feeds can be compacted into bags using 3×3 crafting.

Special Items & Extras

Dungarees

  • Prevent farmland trampling
  • Show animal feeding levels
  • Obtained via farmer trading

Scarecrow

  • Unlocked via achievement
  • Increases nearby crop growth rate

Supply Cart

  • Can be dragged by the player
  • Useful for moving items
  • Does not reliably attach to horses

Plow

  • Attaches to the player
  • Automatically tills soil while moving
  • Excellent for large farms
  • Left-click to detach
