🌍 Chapter 1 — World Generation & Finding Grapes

The core of Let’s Do Vinery is, of course, grapes. Different grape varieties spawn naturally in specific biomes.

🍷 Base Varieties (Plains Biomes)

  • Red Grapes
  • White Grapes

🏜️ Savannah Varieties

  • Savannah Red
  • Savannah White

🌲 Taiga Varieties

  • Taiga Red
  • Taiga White
  • Tip: Taiga grapes grow best on podzol or coarse dirt.

They can grow on grass, but produce fewer grapes — usually 1–2 instead of 4–6.

🌴 Jungle Varieties

  • Jungle Red
  • Jungle White

These require a special support structure in the form of lattices - as seen below.

🪜 Chapter 2 — Growing Grapes: Lattices vs Vine Stems

🌿 Growing Jungle Grapes

To grow jungle grapes, you need an Oak Lattice.

Place the lattice, then right-click with:

  • Red Jungle Seeds or
  • White Jungle Seeds

You can bone meal the vines to speed up growth.

🍇 Growing Other Grapes — Use Vine Stems!

image

Although many grapes can grow directly in soil, you get way better yield using a Grape Vine Stem.

How to use them:

  1. Place the Grape Vine Stem.
  2. Right-click the top with any grape seed.
  3. Let the grapes grow, then harvest the cluster.

Yields:

  • Soil planting → ~1–2 grapes
  • Vine stem → ~4–6 grapes

If you’re farming seriously: always use vine stems.

🍎 Chapter 3 — Apple & Cherry Trees

Natural world generation also includes apple trees and cherry trees.

image
  • The fruit buds indicate growing fruit
  • Grown fruit can be right-clicked to harvest
  • You can bone meal the buds to force ripening. (You can actually bone-meal ANY leaves on the tree and it’ll turn into fruit leaves.)

These trees provide ingredients for cider and cherry wine later.

🍷 Chapter 4 — Wandering Winemaker NPC

Occasionally, you’ll encounter a Wandering Winemaker, who trades:

  • Grape seeds
  • Wine bottles
  • Specialty wines
  • Decorative blocks (like grass slabs and coarse dirt slabs)

You can also obtain:

  • Straw Hat
  • Winemaker Apron
  • Winemaker Leggings
  • Winemaker Boots

Full Set Bonus:

➡️ Bone meal is no longer consumed when used.

A fantastic perk for vineyard automation.

🛢️ Chapter 5 — Essential Equipment for Wine Making

To make wine, you’ll need:

✔️ Grape Vine Pot

✔️ Fermentation Barrel

✔️ Apple Press

(The Apple Press also doubles as the workstation for converting villagers into Winemakers.)

Let’s break these down.

🍇 Chapter 6 — Using the Grape Vine Pot

The grape vine pot is where grape juice begins.

image

How to use it:

  1. Place the pot.
  2. Insert exactly six grapes.
  3. Jump on the grapes until they become smooth crushed grape pulp.
  4. Craft wine bottles (place two glass bottles vertically).
  5. Right-click the pot with a bottle to fill it with Grape Juice.

Now you’re ready for fermentation.

🧪 Chapter 7 — Fermenting Wine

Right-click your Fermentation Barrel and shift-click your filled grape juice bottle inside.

You’ll see:

  • Juice stored in the left tank
  • Wine bottle slot at the bottom
  • Ingredient slot on the right

Example: Making Noir Wine

Noir requires:

  • Red grape juice
  • Sweet berries

Place the berries in the bottom slot.

image

A timer will start — usually 5 minutes of real-time fermentation.

Once complete, you’ll have a young wine with Age 0.

⏳ Chapter 8 — Aging Wine for Better Effects

Wine is not finished after fermentation.

To make it stronger, longer-lasting, and higher quality, it must age.

image

Important:

Wine will NOT age in a Minecraft chest.

It must be stored in Vinery storage blocks, such as:

  • Wine racks
  • Bottle shelves
  • Wine box (for certain types)

Right-click the bottle into these storage blocks.

Shift-right-click to open/close doors on racks.

Please note - certain bottles only fit in certain storage. (So it may take a bit of trial and error).

Aging Rules:

  • Base aging time: 20 Minecraft days
  • Some wines require longer
  • Aged wine improves in both quality and effect level

Example:

  • Noir aged → Jump Boost II or longer Jump Boost duration.

🍎 Chapter 9 — The Apple Press & Juices

The Apple Press turns fruit into juices for cider or mixed wines.

image

How to use:

  1. Place apples (or cherries) into the press.
  2. The press converts them into apple mash.
  3. Insert a wine bottle to collect Apple Juice or Cherry Juice.

This juice becomes the base for:

  • Cider
  • Cherry wine
  • Mixed specialty wines

✨ Chapter 10 — Special Wines & Recipes

All recipes can be viewed through JEI/REI, but a few notable examples include:

  • Invisibility (Cherry Wine + Red Grape Juice)
  • Apple Wine (Apple Juice + additives)
  • Crystallo (Red grape juice + sugar + feather + blaze rod + bottle)

Each wine offers unique potion-like effects when consumed.

🪵 Chapter 11 — Decorations & Extras

Let’s Do Vinery adds a generous selection of decorative blocks:

  • Wine barrels
  • Grape bags
  • Cherry logs
  • Coarse dirt slabs
  • Grass slabs
  • Wine shelves
  • Vinery signs
  • Stacked logs
  • Tables & chairs

Great for building a full vineyard, tasting room, or winery interior.
