Welcome to the ultimate Powah! Mod guide – your all‑in‑one walkthrough for generating, storing, and transferring energy in modern Minecraft modpacks. This guide covers every generator, cable tier, machine, upgrade, and the Nitro Reactor, all explained simply and in progression order.
⭐ What Is Powah!?
Powah! is a tech mod focused entirely on modern, scalable power generation. It features:
- Renewable and non‑renewable generators
- Upgradable tiers (Basic → Starter → Hardened → Blazing → Niotic → Spirited → Nitro)
- Energy cables & batteries
- The Energizing Orb for crafting advanced components
- A compact, end‑game nuclear‑style Nitro Reactor
Unlike older tech mods, Powah! is simple, clean, and extremely flexible.
🌱 Early Game Power
1. Furnator (Burns Fuel)
Simplest generator. Uses coal/charcoal.
- Cheap
- Perfect for day 1 automation
- Great for smelting early energizing materials
- The buttons on the right can be clicked to specify which side can input / output from the machine.
2. Magmator (Uses Lava)
The classic “infinite power” starter.
- Pairs well with a lava source (Dripstone → Cauldron → Lava farm)
- Generates more power per tick than Furnator
- You can click lava buckets into the tank on the right of the GUI manually, or pipe it in from another mod, like Mekanism’s Mechanical pipes.
3. Solar Panels
Free passive power.
- Requires sunlight
- Higher tiers scale very well
⚡ Mid Game – Energizing Orb & Better Generators
Once you craft the Energizing Orb, Powah truly begins.
⚙️ The Energizing Orb
Place items in Lightning Rod range or use Energizing Rods. Used to craft: For example the above picture shows me right clicking in a gold & iron ingot, and placing a rod attached to a creative energy cell to power it. This will automatically make Energised Steel!
- Energized Steel
- Blazing Crystals
- Niotic Crystals
- Spirited Crystals
- Nitro Crystals (end game)
This unlocks higher‑tier machines.
🔥 Mid-Tier Generators
1. Thermo Generator
Creates power from a hot/cold gradient.
Examples:
- Lava + Packed Ice
- Magma + Blue Ice
Check JEI to see what coolant & heating items you can use. In the example here, we’re puting blazing steel beneath it and are bucketing in water.
2. Energizing Generator
Intermediate power that scales well with better fuels.
3. Solar Panels (Improved Tier)
The jump from Basic → Blazing → Niotic → Spirited gives massive boosts.
🔋 Energy Storage & Transfer
Powah includes:
Energy Cells
Batteries with massive capacity.
- Right‑click to see stored FE
- Upgrades increase storage x10 per tier
Energy Cables
Comes in all tiers.
- Higher tiers transfer staggering FE/t
- Niotic and Spirited are perfect for mid‑late game bases
💠 Late Game Power Options
The Reactor (Nitro Reactor)
The end‑game multiblock of Powah.
Runs on:
- Uraninite (main fuel)
- Water (cooling)
- Redstone (catalyst)
- Dry Ice (optional super coolant for massive boosts)
Produces:
- Huge FE/t output, enough for entire modpacks
It’s tiny, efficient, and extremely powerful.
🧪 How To Get Uraninite
Found underground like ore.
Can also be processed:
- With Fortune picks
- Using the Ore Laser Base (other mods)
- In some packs, bees or mystical mods
Higher tiers of Uraninite produce more power.
🔧 Automation Tips
- Use Item Pipes (any mod) to auto-feed the Furnator or Magmator - Modular routers are fantastic for the automation of Powah materials for example.
- Use Fluid Pipes for Lava farms
- Put Energy Cells above/below generators for easy buffering
- Use Dry Ice in Reactor for x3–x4 efficiency
- Use Solar at higher tiers rather than early; investment pays off massively
🏆 Best Power Setup Per Stage
Early Game → Magmator + Lava farm
Cheap, infinite, reliable.
Mid Game → Thermo Generator or Blazing Solar
Great efficiency.
Late Game → Spirited Solar Fields + Energy Cells
Gigantic passive power.
End Game → Nitro Reactor
One reactor can power entire servers.

Furnace Generator | Nitro | 4,000 FE/t |
| Magmator | Starter | ~30 FE/t | | Magmator | Basic | ~90 FE/t | | Magmator | Hardened | ~180 FE/t | | Magmator | Blazing | ~450 FE/t | | Magmator | Niotic | ~1,000 FE/t | | Magmator | Spirited | ~2,000 FE/t | | Magmator | Nitro | ~4,000 FE/t |
| Thermo Generator | Basic | ~500 FE/t (with Lava) | | Thermo Generator | Hardened | ~750 FE/t | | Thermo Generator | Blazing | ~1,200 FE/t | | Thermo Generator | Niotic | ~2,500 FE/t | | Thermo Generator | Spirited | ~5,000 FE/t | | Thermo Generator | Nitro | ~10,000 FE/t |
| Solar Panel | Basic | 60 FE/t (Daylight only) | | Solar Panel | Hardened | 100 FE/t | | Solar Panel | Blazing | 200 FE/t | | Solar Panel | Niotic | 400 FE/t | | Solar Panel | Spirited | 800 FE/t | | Solar Panel | Nitro | 2,000 FE/t |
🎯 Final Tips
- Upgrade everything evenly – bottlenecks ruin power networks
- A Spirited Solar setup is often enough for entire modpacks
- Always pair reactors with high‑tier pipes and cells
- Use the Energizing Orb early – it unlocks the whole mod
