Twilight Forest – Phantom Knights Boss Guide (Dark Forest Stronghold)

The Phantom Knights are the next boss after the Hydra and are located in the Dark Forest. This fight is unique because it relies on a “real vs. illusion” mechanic, and you’ll need trophies from previous bosses to enter the stronghold.

1. Finding the Dark Forest

  • The Dark Forest is obvious from above: it has a huge roof that prevents entry from the top.
  • On your Magic Map, look for the pink icon in the middle of the forest—it represents the stronghold where Phantom Knights spawn.
  • The stronghold has four entrances around the perimeter; choose any of them.

2. Unlocking the Stronghold

The stronghold is protected by a force field.

Requirements to enter:

  • Any boss trophy you’ve collected so far (e.g., Naga Trophy).

How to remove the force field:

  1. Place the trophy on the pedestal, on top—not beside it.
  2. The pedestal will activate and remove the force field, granting entry.

3. Entering the Stronghold

  • The stronghold is a labyrinth, though much easier to navigate than the Minotaur Labyrinth.
  • Night Vision potions are recommended because the interior is very dark.
  • Watch for iron bars and obsidian entrances—they mark hallways and the boss arena.

4. Understanding Phantom Knights Mechanics

Inside, you’ll face Fat Knight Phantoms, which are tricky because:

  1. Only one is real at a time.
    • The real Phantom has a body.
    • All the illusions will attack but cannot be damaged.
  2. Order matters.
    • When you kill the current real Phantom, another will become real.
    • There are six in total per encounter.

Attack patterns:

  • Each Phantom throws tools and weapons at you (axes, swords, etc.).
  • They spin around the room, creating pressure and distraction.
  • A shield is highly recommended to block incoming throws.

Strategy:

  1. Identify the real Phantom (the one with a body).
  2. Focus your attacks only on the real one.
  3. Repeat this process for each new real Phantom that appears.
Tip: Keep moving in circles and manage distance carefully—this helps avoid combined attacks from multiple illusions.

5. Loot and Rewards

After defeating all six Phantom Knights:

  1. Chest in the center opens containing:
    • Iron-forged Knight Phantom Trophy
    • Phantom gear (armor and weapons)
    • Knight metal axes and tools
  2. The gear is high-quality and useful for the next stages of the Twilight Forest adventure.
