1. Finding the Ur-Ghast

image
  • The Ur-Ghast is in a huge building near the center of the Dark Forest.
  • The area is covered but partially open, so you can pillar up from the outside if desired.
  • On your Magic Map, look for the central Dark Forest icon to locate the area.

2. Entering the Boss Area

image
  • Many of the blocks on the path to the Ur-Ghast disappear when right-clicked, allowing entry.
  • The structure is labyrinthine, so plan your route carefully.
  • Your goal is to reach the top of the building, where the Ur-Ghast spawns.
Tip: You can pillar up from the outside or navigate through the labyrinth interior. The climb is long and high, so be prepared.

3. Preparing for Battle

  • The Ur-Ghast is essentially a supercharged Ghast.
  • Recommended gear: strong bows or high-damage ranged weapons.
  • Optional: reflect fireballs back as you would with a normal Ghast to deal extra damage.
  • Watch out for mini-ghasts that the Ur-Ghast spawns; these can be killed to help reduce pressure.
Close-range combat is risky because of the massive size of the Ur-Ghast and its fireball attacks.

4. Boss Mechanics

  • Primary attack: Fires large fireballs, similar to normal Ghasts.
  • Secondary attack: Summons mini-ghasts to assist in the fight.
  • Vulnerable areas: Headshot with bows or high-damage projectiles is effective.
  • Melee combat is not recommended due to the fireball attacks and the boss’s size.

Strategy Tips:

  1. Keep distance and focus on ranged attacks.
  2. Kill mini-ghasts as they appear to reduce distractions.
  3. Use reflection mechanics on fireballs if you’re skilled with timing.
  4. Stay mobile to avoid getting trapped near edges or corners of the structure.

5. Loot and Rewards

Upon defeating the Ur-Ghast, you’ll find a chest containing:

  • Ur-Ghast Trophy
  • Carmonite (used for reappearing and vanishing blocks, similar to the tower’s mechanics)
  • Fiery Tears (similar to Hydra drops, can be used in crafting fire-related items)
The trophy can be kept for later stronghold unlocking or display.
